Routines

Daniel had to work tonight, so Noah and I were on our own. I decided to try putting him to sleep at 7:15 p.m., about 15 minutes earlier than normal because we've been having to wake him up every morning to get ready for school. We ate dinner and took a bath, and rather than let him run around and get amped up, I decided to have extended story time. We read his new airplane book from the library about three times (he's obsessed with airplanes and all modes of transportation), and then his Noah's Ark book from Grammy and Grandpa, and then, of course, Good Night Moon. Then I told him I loved him three times like I always do, and then told him to have sweet dreams.

Now normally when we put Noah in his crib, he finds his pacifier, his hippo lovey, rolls on his belly, sticks his but in the air and goes right to sleep. Like clockwork. Except tonight, I moved the clock up and he was having none of it. I walked out of his room and within a minute he was crying. I walked back into his room and his lovey and pacifier are on the floor and he's crying like his heart is broken. Two more times I had to go back in his room until he finally went to sleep...at 7:30 p.m.
